We had a great time in Lavra. The apartment is spacious, there is a well-equipped kitchen and superb sea view. Also, the bedroom is away from the street, so it is really quiet. The beach next to the apartment is just awesome. If you're looking for a relaxing seaside holiday, this is the right choice. Shops and bakeries are just 5 mins away by foot. For more extensive shopping, you could go to Matosinhos (10 mins by car). Porto is about 20-30 mins by car. We felt Lavra was a great base to explore Northern Portugal, as you can easily reach other popular destinations (e.g. Braga). There is free street parking in front of the apartment.
