It’s basic motel rather than a lodge 🙂 Room was comfy and clean with all necessary ammenities. BUT no vent or a/c - we could only open tiny window to the corridor.

Check-in excellent, room would have been nicer to have a ground floor, save carting our fridge/freezer up the stairs.

Mountaineer Lodge is one of the 'cheaper' options in Lake Louise village (spoiler alert - Lake Louise accommodation is very expensive any time of year). The hotel itself is very clean and the hot tub and steam room are great. Hilariously we didn't actually get to see the Lake because the lake carpark (which is $40 CAD a car) was full and the shuttle (which is $40 CAD per person) was also fully booked. We weren't too disappointed as, coming from New Zealand, we have our fair share of mountain lakes you don't have to pay to look at.
