We stayed for two nights to explore the Loire/Cher area a little. The Chateau de l'Aubriere turned out to be not only a great hotel to stay at, but a real part of the holiday experience. We loved walking in the grounds, lounging under the trees in view of the chateau, dining on the terrace with its delightful view, and of course meeting the horse and chickens who roam freely. The hotel is comfortable and clean, and unlike many similar places it hasn't been over-modernised. It's still an authentic period house.
