Location was only 2 min walk to a 24 hour convenience store, and less than 10 min walk to the main busy area. The beds were comfortable though some of the pillows were not comfortable. They also do baggage transfer to other hotels at a reasonable price. It’s about 20-25 min walk to the bamboo forest. Nothing to do with the property, but Arashiyama is pretty much dead in the evening with everything being shut early and there isn’t anything to do. In the mornings, they open pretty late.

Riverside Arashiyma was a pleasure to stay at. The rooms are big and spacious, enough for all four of us. The location was perfect right next to the train station and just a short walk to the park, and river that had the most beautifu collection off Cherry Blossoms we had seen. Wish we had stayed a few more days.
