We enjoyed out stay at R star Hostel, the location is good, about a 15 min walk from the 'main street' in Kyoto. There is a metro station about 5 minutes from the hostel which is one stop from Kyoto station. The hostel is very clean and most rooms can be cleaned daily if you wish. The laundry room and kitchen facilities are also good.

Very clean, great facilities. Breakfast included coffee and toast (flavoured bread). Great dorm room bunks with curtains. Showers were spacious and bathrooms were cleaned regularly. Would stay again for sure. Everything within walking distance (if you don’t mind walking great place to stay).
