Amazing breakfast - quite substantial! The host was lovely and make sure we were happy and had what we needed. Bed is extremely comfortable !

Great location - walking distance from the river and the temple area and also a short walk to the main shopping area in Kyoto. Also, there are lots of small restaurants close by which offer a great choice of quality food. Lovely staff. The manager is very helpful and he speaks excellent English. We booked an upgrade room which was large by Japanese standards. The room had everything we needed including a small fridge and kettle. Also, there’s access to a washing machine and tumble dryer. Don’t be put off by the 2 star rating this hotel is more like a 4 star hotel in my opinion. For our 2 night stay we had a Japanese style breakfast on the first morning and a more western style breakfast in the second morning both of which were lovely. I’d happily stay again.
