This property has been the best I've ever stayed in; everything from the staff to the facilities to the location were above my expectations. The bath was so relaxing, everything was provided; towels, hair products, skin products, kimonos and more. The location itself was perfect, very close to the main attractions, and all the kimono rentals. I loved every second of my stay there.

Amazing experience. Me and my boyfriend stayed at Higashiyamaso for 3 days to explore Kyoto. Our host and their staff were very kind and helpful. The ryokan is very close to all the beautiful shrines and easily accessible since it’s on the Main Street. The main host is a very nice guy who truly wants to give his guests the best experience! We loved it very much. We got to book a private onsen, the private onsens are tattoo friendly so that is great! Terrific experience! We already miss the peace and quiet of the ryokan/ and beautiful Kyoto. I would definitely come back!

Very nice traditional Japanese guest house. Super friendly staff, great location near Kyoto’s main attractions such as Gion and Kyomizu-dera, decent (but traditional Japanese!) breakfast and wonderful onsen bathrooms in the basement.
