Beautiful antique house with a cute little garden, located in a picture-perfect historic neighborhood; very, very warm-hearted caring hosts, very clean, very well maintained rooms with authentic flair.

The place is a century old, small house with few rooms, run by a super friendly family. They offered us some matcha and Japanese sweets, and even said that they could drive us to some places if we needed to. They also recommended restaurants in the area, not so known to tourists, so we got to experience where the locals go. Since the house is small, we were only sharing it with a couple and we got to get to know them a little bit. It was a genuine experience in a beautiful traditional Japanese house.

110 year old authentic house in a quiet but accessible neighbourhood. We were warmly welcomed by the hostess who provides good advice and assistance for any activity. We also liked the public bath nearby and the bike rental.

A perfect combination of heritage, with the building predating over 100 years, and the decorations feeling authentic and homely. The rooms and futons were both comfortable and really made you feel at home in Japan. The staff were absolutely excellent, laying out a spread of snacks as well as carrying our heavy bags up the stairs, even going as far as driving us to the train station at the end of our stay! They also conducted their guesthouse perfectly, this was definitely not their first rodeo. Overall a wonderful experience and will recommend to anyone going to Kyoto.
