Albert “Resting in the glow of big, beautiful Barbara's”

Kutna Hora can rightly count, together with Prague and Český Krumlov, as one of the most picturesque sites in the Czech Republic, and St Barbara's inexorably draws the visitor's eye to the town's panoramic culmination point. It really is a particularly appealing and architecturally harmonious high-water mark of the (Neo-) Gothic style, complete with high vaults and flying buttresses - squint and you could be looking at Notre Dame in Paris. It is rare then to be able to enjoy a privileged, direct view of such a resplendent landmark from one's own private terrace, but that is the big draw of this otherwise no-frills, but agreeable-enough establishment. The view (which is of St. Barbara's northern side) is particularly enchanting after nightfall, when the church is beautifully illuminated (albeit only until 22 o' clock). You feel like you can literally bathe in the basilica's glow. A special, sublime experience.

The hotel was convenient to get to with a good parking area. The room was tidy and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Since the hotel was in the old town it was very easy to go around .
