surreal dreamlike experience. perfect, heavenly, stay. wonderful warm hospitality by the hosting couple, even gifted us with their 20th anniversary memorabilia! Dinner and breakfast were outstanding multi-course affair which engaged all the senses— smell of buttery bakes, sound of classical music, and thoughtful touches like lap blankets. Favorite part is the walk in the woods (national forest) right at the doorstep of the patio with seats & swings in the garden to soak in the birdsong and spot scampering squirrels. There are both indoor and outdoor private onsen. You just lock the door and enjoy your 45 mins private bath in complete privacy. the outdoor onsen has amazing view and the experience is wholesome.

You could feel the love by the owners for their hotel. It is a little outside Karuizawa at the edge of a national park. Karuizawa is a nice town to walk around.

The breakfast and dinner provided was excellent. The breakfast was salad , bread varieties, sausages and ham and coffee/tea . I love the dinner especially the quiche and beef stew. The place is very uniquely designed. The owner kept a lot of ornaments from his travel through Europe. I love it. Overall if you are looking for a quiet place to relax and with excellent service, this will be it.
