A welcome change to get a personal check in rather than the usual ‘here’s a code’. Michio does an excellent check in and pick up from station. Loved the accommodation and location. Very comfortable. Little backyard yard with small pond close to sites to visit. Thanks Michio. 👍

Zaimoku-an is exceptional! Perfect location to visit the must see sites of Kanazawa. Kenroku-en is virtually on your back doorstep. Bus stop nearby to get to and from the station. JR bus so you can use your suica card. Zaimoku-an is situated in a quite neighbourhood but close enough to walk to Oriental brewery for good beer and pizza or Kappa udon donsuki for delicious handmade udon. The house is beautiful with everything you need. A lovely deck to sit and relax outside and laundry facilities which we were grateful for. Comfy futons and pillows! Staff very friendly and accommodating.

Gorgeous guest house with everything you could need for your stay. Nicely positioned close to key tourist spots, while still tucked away enough to feel like authentic. Michio was a great host, picking us up from the station, pointing out key places along the way and making sure we settled into the house nicely. Our only complaint was a faint smell from the toilet, but it really didn’t detract much from the overwhelmingly positive experience!
