1. The staff were very kind and helpful. 2. The meals were outstanding, some of the best we've had during our two week stay in Japan 3. The room was very comfy and quiet, and the baths were natural ones and very relaxing. Totally worth the small detour on our trip from Tokyo to Osaka. 4. Just half an hour away by foot you can get a cable car to the top of a hill where you get a lovely view of Mount Fuji.

Pretty authentic ryokan, room exactly as you might expect a ryokan room to be (simple, clean, quiet, wooden and tatami). Very good, local and well presented breakfast in oldish yet charming canteen room. Free drinks and snacks. Simple but nice hot spring.
