Oh my goodness, this was my first time traveling on my own. I picked Sapphire Blue and stayed there for 40 nights. There are only three rooms so there loads of people to look after you. There a great feel here Dinesh and his staff are truly amazing. The food is incredible and Dinesh curry is the best I had while I was in Sri Lanka. While I was there there was live music and an awesome Lady Dj. If you don’t like music don’t stay here because it’s on all the time( loved it). There a large swing that everyone stops to have there photos taken on it as it swings out over the sea. I turned 63 while I was there, they decorated my room bought me presents 🎁 and truly made my day special. I can’t thank Dinesh and the boys enough for making this trip truly special. In the evening the boys would go and feed the sharks ( baby ones)that would come in at the same time. Who ever was there they were invited to go along. This was just by where the large turtles came to be fed.

This place has a real novel feel- our room was right at the front with a beautiful ocean view- somewhere we would never normally stay. The room and bathroom were huge and spacious and the bed was so comfortable - one of the best we've had on our travels over 6 months. There were lots of little luxuries you appreciate when away from home: two pillows each, plug sockets and light switches by the bed, space and somewhere to hang and dry clothes.

The accommodation was right on the beach and everything we wanted out of our stay in Hikkaduwa! The owner Dinesh was amazing and we had a really great time chatting to him and his staff :) we even got up early to go swimming with the turtles when no one was around which was really cool! The food here was also amazing (we are normally adverse to eating in hotels etc. but this was a complete exception and we didn’t want to leave!) would highly recommend to stay here.. definitely won’t regret your decision!
