Location was great, just a couple of minutes walk to the lake and near great shopping strip. The roof top had happy hour and a great jacuzzi/pool. Amazing sunset views over the lake. Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to assist us with anything we needed.

The hotel is conveniently located near Ho Kiem Lake (2-3 small streets away but surprisingly having a very good view of the whole lake because of the low rise houses in between. It is in the middle of shopping areas and food streets where one can find very good food with good prices. Another big surprise is the complementary afternoon tea buffet, where we enjoyed a quiet lake view with delicious mini cakes n cookies and a good choice of tea and coffee in a very comfy environment. Another thumb up compliment is that in next early morning when we got to rush for the 9am flight, the cafe staff offered us meal boxes to take food (and drinks) from the breakfast buffet table for us to consume when we arrive at Airport. It was so impressive ! In fact it was suggested by the front desk staffs the previous night. All in all, everyone in the hotel wholeheartedly dedicated themselves to give every guest a most pleasant and enjoyable stay. Although the hotel is not the very grand type and its decoration is rather traditional, it is not only well-maintained but also presents an air of elegance. We are immersed in this elegance and feel so pampered by warm hospitality extended by every member of the staff. We must go back next time we are in Hanoi.

I stayed at two locations in Hanoi and can say without a doubt that the location of Lucien is fantastic and so too were the staff. The staff at the Lucien were exceptional, from the GM that was so generous and warm to staff recommending some amazing food (turns out the Bun Cha close by is a Michelin ‘Bib Gourmand’ awarded restaurant - recommended by the staff and a local favourite). I regret not staying longer.
