The room was huge and had plenty of room to spread out. There was a lovely view down the valley. Our son enjoyed the novelty of sleeping on tatami mats, but there were also western style beds provided. We chose not to include meals with our stay. Our family made use of a private onsen booking, and I also used the outdoor onsen which was a unique experience, beautiful in the early morning.

Great peaceful location up in the mountains but just 10 -15 minutes walk down to Hakone Yumoto. Staff were very friendly and helpful, great facilities, beautiful Onsen and delicious food.

After a busy week traveling in Japan, this is exactly the place you are looking for. Amazing outdoor onsen, great Japanese buffet breakfast, and lovely staff. The rooms are huge, especially considering the typical room sizes in Japan. It is a steep walk from the train station to the hotel, so it's better to take a taxi or request the local shuttle.

The room was a reasonable size, and the beds reasonably comfortable. The onsen was nice. It was partly on the 4th floor of the building, and extended outside onto the hill at the back of the building, with outside baths around rocks and trees.
