Hotel Baruk is a very good hotel in Guadalajara. In this city, the good hotels are not downtown. Hotel Baruk is located on the margin of a neighbourhood called Chapalita (about 15 minutes by car from the downtown), which is a beautiful upper-middle class residential district, with beautiful streets, amazing luxuriant vegetation and lots of restaurants and cafes. There is also a beautiful main park. On one side of the hotel is a major thoroughfare, which allows easy and fast access to all parts of the city. The airport is about 40 minutes away by taxi/uber (provided there is no traffic congestion due to incidents). The neighbourhood is completely safe and can be walked at any time of day or night. The hotel is modern, with very spacious clean rooms, comfortable beds, quality bedding and a menu of pilllows (there are four pillows of different softness to choose from for each bed). The room I had (804) has a corner coffee table with two chairs and a spacious desk with an office chair. There are many drawers to store things, there is a safe, a closet and a coffee machine with a selection of three different types of coffee, one being decaf. Water bottles are provided every day. The rooms have air control, so during the cold January nights in Guadalajara this hotel provides heating. The water pressure is good and the bathroom is very spacious, with mirrors on both sides, a vanity table and chair and a TV screen. The staff is friendly and helpful. In the mornings the hotel provides coffee and cookies in the lobby. There is also an Oriental-style coffee offered to visitors at the entrance during the day. The rooms are tall and have floor to ceiling windows with spectacular views of the city and of the sunrise. The windows have good sound-proofing from the traffic outside. The toiletries include shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, a dental kit (toothbrush and paste) and a shoe polisher.
