Thomas “Outstanding host and excellent value for money”

The host was outstanding; you would struggle to find a better one. He was always helpful and attentive, anticipating what you might need. The location was also excellent, being close to the town centre, the beach, bus stops and shopping malls. It is about a twelve-minute walk to each of the main shopping malls and each has a large supermarket. Although Grand Baie Beach is about the same distance, there is a nicer beach, La Cuvette, just another ten-minute walk from Grand Baie Beach. Larger beaches are accessible by a short bus or taxi ride. The express bus to Port Louis is about fifteen minutes away on foot if you want to catch it at the beginning of the route (every half hour on the hour and half hour). It takes about forty minutes to reach Port Louis. The guest house itself is in a fairly quiet area and seemed quite safe, especially since the host and his family live on the premises. There is also street lighting in the area. My unit had a nice balcony and a large kitchen that included a microwave and large fridge freezer. The beds were firm but soft on the surface, so very comfortable. The air conditioning worked well but I hardly ever used it due to the time of year I was there. Overall, this is excellent value for money. Nearby resort hotels charge ten times as much (I actually checked out of curiosity!).

It is a hidden gem. Such friendly and pro-active hosts. Organised great transport at good rate. The place has everything you need and is exactly like the photos. Aircons is a big bonus. Clean and like a home from home. Really central in Grand Baie area! You can literally and safely walk everywhere. We had the best time and you will too.
