I felt like home at Basecamp Lodge because of the cozy and comfy atmosphere in the common area and the kitchen. Staff were helpful, guiding us to find attractions in Golden. Also, you could get discounts on some of the tours with their promo code! This place is one hour away from Lake Louise, and the drive would be on a scenic road.

Quiet Location on the banks of the Columbia river. A choice of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance along the river-bank pathway. (Most of the other hotels are alongside the Main Highway and the Railtrack.) Friendly team, a functional room. A good stop-over choice while travelling through.

The common dinning area where coffee, tea and hot chocolate and snacks were there 24hrs. Enjoyed the extra space to chill and relax.

The layout of the room was interesting, and made use of the ceiling height. My son loved the stairs. The room did require some fix ups or reno but otherwise I liked the coziness of the cottage home feel. The staff were friendly and knew a lot about the area and gave good recommendations on hikjng trails and things to do. Room was very clean and tidy. Bed mattress and pillows were comfortable.
