I was moved by the warm hospitality of the host. Many rooms and toilets are comfortable. The surroundings are quiet and the scenery is so nice.

Marina dei Greci is quite simply the most beautiful villa we have ever stayed in, and is in a perfect location. The building is full of organic curves and sits perfectly at ease with its gardens, unlike many ugly rectangular square walled holiday lets. At the rear there is a sun bathing area which runs straight off from the lower bedroom floor, with a private sea shore and pool ladder into the water at a small rocky cove, and we all swam from there every day. If you didn’t wish to swim but needed to cool down, then at the front of the building there is a one metre deep pool which was wonderfully cool in the heat of the day. The bathing area between the house and sea kept the sun all day, but the front pool deck also stays in the evening sun for a long time after the rear is finally in shadow. At the side of the house by the kitchen on the middle floor level is a large shaded table and gas barbecue at which we had breakfast and cooked meals for our group of twelve on three nights. At this level is also a rear terrace which opens from the cool lounge with the most beautiful views. All in, the twelve of us found our own favourite spots, and could be together or spread out with nobody ever being cramped for their own space. The villa is an easy ten minute walk from the bars and night life of the town, but is pleasantly removed from the busy beach on a quiet cul-de-sac road. Lastly, the owner, Alessandro, was always available to help with any queries, and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants, excursions, and delicious Granitas and Brioche from a patisserie in the town. Our arrival day was our daughter’s 21st birthday, and Alessandro also sourced quite possibly the most delicious cake that any of us had ever eaten, ready for our arrival. I could go on.
