The fine print
One child from 3 to 12 years old can stay for free in the existing sofa bed. This is only available in Suites and Apartments.Please note that the safety deposit box has a cost of EUR 1.7 per day.The name on the credit card used for the booking should correspond to the guest staying at the property. For reservations made with a third party credit card, any previous charges will be reimbursed and the full payment will be requested upon check-in.Dogs and Cats under 5kg are allowed, the guest must pay a 100 EUR security deposit plus 25 EUR per day to bring the pet.Please note that the hotel only accept dogs and cats in Apartments or Premium Apartments room types.From 5pm only adults (over 16) are allowed in the spa area and indoor pool.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in. My recent stay at Golden Residence Hotel was fantastic, largely thanks to the exceptional service. We arrived earlier than expected, and the reception staff were incredibly helpful. They proactively offered us an upgrade to a larger room since our booked room wasn't quite ready, which was a wonderful start to our stay. Even after checking out, they extended their hospitality by inviting us to use the swimming pool and showers, making our departure much more comfortable. Highly recommend!"

The hotel consists of three buildings that look renovated and well-kept from the outside, with a modern and pleasant reception and dining area. We especially appreciated having a kitchenette in the room — a big plus for flexibility during our stay. The highlight of our visit were the themed dinners — each night offered a different cuisine, and the quality of the food was excellent. Staff were generally friendly, and the atmosphere in the shared spaces was relaxed and pleasant.

Overall impression: I was staying in the hotel with the family (including 2 kids of 1 and 7 y.o.). Hotel provides great value for money with convenient location, good infrastructure, tasty food and very helpful staff. Hotel's infrastructure: Rooms are well equipped with everything you need for small cooking and have a lot of places for storage. Kitchens are located in wardrobes which helps to nicely separate it from the sleeping zone when needed. Our rooms had a great view on the ocean (though I think some rooms do not have this benefit). Hotel has very convenient for kids swimming pool, billiards, board games and book corners Location: Hotel is well located with close proximity to natural beaches as well as to various swimming pools. 5 min walk to Shopping Center and easy access to Funchal via few buses one of which stop right in front of the hotel. Restaurant and food. High quality and tasty food during breakfasts and dinners. Quite diverse offering during dinners, i.e. every day was dedicated to various cousins (e.g. local, Iberian, Latin, etc.). Restaurant has very nice-looking and modern design (compared to overall old-fashioned design of the hotel) Staff: Very friendly staff always willing to help and provide all required information.
