What is the definition of a good apartment? For us, the answer is simple: a place far away from home that feels like home. And Sommavilla is exactly that. In a sunny week in February, we had the privilege to call Sommavilla our home. We were looking for a place in the Stubaital close to the airport of Innsbruck and close to the family ski area Schlick 2000, where our kids could experience skiing for the first time. And if things would advance, we wanted to visit the Stubaier Gletscher when possible. The location of Sommavilla was perfect: there is a ski bus stop around the corner and you can literally see Schlick 2000 from your balcony. There are several supermarkets nearby and the Gletscher could be reached within 25 minutes of driving. The hosts family Sommavilla welcomed us very warmly and gave us useful tips on the most efficient ways of transportation and where to find the restaurants and supermarkets in the village. They also showed us where we could store our ski’s and snowboard and where to dry our gear when needed. We were even offered to use the table tennis table in the basement, which was a great way to have fun and relax with the kids after a long day of skiing. They really loved it! The no-nonsense apartment is super clean and has everything you need for a holiday like ours. The beds and couch are comfortable, there is a lot of storage space in the apartment and the kitchen is fully equipped. What I will remember the most though, is the feeling of being welcome. This might sound cliché, but it’s a feeling you hardly get nowadays. Sure, in most hotels and apartments they might know your name and they can give you useful traveling tips. But mister and miss Sommavilla are more than that. They are really interested in the person behind the name and I truly enjoyed every conversation we had during the week. They created a comfort zone for us, so we were able to spend precious time with each other and make memories which will will last a lifetime!

Location was excellent, the host was most friendly and showed us around the house and the available facilities. The room was very warm, the heating was excellent. Walk to the ski-busstop was about 60 meters, within 10 minutes at the gondola. The house was very nice, kitchen was well equipped, the apartment was more than roomy enough.
