The hotel is centrally located in the island, which is your open air prison (especially at night, don’t dare to go anywhere else as it is dangerous, although much less than any other part of Guatemala). Each bed has its own locker for which you need your own padlock. There were only fans, no aircon (this was better for me). The kitchen is fully equipped. The hotelier was responsive to the messages on booking.com app prior to my arrival, which is very important for the organization of the stay: there is nothing to see in Flores itself, you have to use this place as a base to explore the temples in the area, for which you need to join a tour (Tikal can be reach by public transport, but the tour has a fair price). This hostel offers tours to Tikal and Yaxha, but not to Uaxactun (don’t go to the sunrise Tikal tour: it’s super tiring and at dawn with the fog and low light you will not take good pics and will not enjoy the place; also, don’t go to sunset Yaxha tour: at dusk temples are in the shadow and it is nice to go also to Topoxte which can be added only to the morning tour).

Very welcoming. Great location. Room had a fan and a comfortable bed. Bread to make toast and jam and coffee available free in the mornings. Room next to the shared toilet which was convenient for us.

We loved our stay here for budget accommodation. Full use of the fans which was really appreciated in the humid rainy season heat. The breakfast of 4 pieces of bread with jam / butter was absolutely appreciated, we used two for breakfast and saved the other two for a jam sandwich packed lunch. Value for money is great here staff are very helpful and friendly. They helped arrange our Tikal tour and our transport to Palenque in Mexico. We had a problem with 2 cockroaches entering the bedroom (as it was rainy season with humidity) we notified the staff and they got rid of them as soon as possible. We never saw them again ! Nice socialising areas for those who wish to. Kitchen was decent too. Overall lovely stay. Thanks very much
