I have been visiting this hotel on and off for over 50 years. Sadly, it is a shadow of its former self. Once the holiday destination of the well-to-do. It is a huge hotel and must cost a fortune to maintain. It is an integral part of Clacton's historic sea front. Close to the beach, pier, fun fair and town centre. It has its own private car park at the rear. The staff are so friendly and helpful. My room was clean and had an excellent view. However, parts of this building were dirty and poorly maintained. It would cost a fortune to bring this hotel up to scratch. And making it pay for 52 weeks of the year would be nigh on impossible.

The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was big and spacious, bigger than expected. The breakfast was excellent and the space was set out really well. Would stay here again and recommend to others.
