The receptionist found me a room accessible by lift when she saw that I walked with a stick. I liked the way the old world charm of the place was combined with modern comfort & convenience. Stylish traditional restaurant, very good food and perfect service. Absolute bargain. A bit after the fashion of the Spanish paradors but much better value.

Quiet out of town location, nice grounds, plenty of parking. Spacious room with balcony. Great breakfast. Good shower. Powerful hairdryer - best of 5 on our trip so far! Beautiful old town, just about walkable. Convenient location for drive from Spain to Portugal.

The exterior of the hotel was very beautiful, including the lobby. The room that we stayed in was adequate, at best. It looked exactly how it is in the photos. I would not call it a 4-star hotel due to the lack of things that 4-star hotels usually have, such as a kettle, slippers and toiletries. The room smelled very humid, despite not being close to any body of water. Later we found water spots on the ceiling, which probably caused the smell. The shower head was falling off the attachment and was partially broken. If we didn’t get a handsome deal on this hotel, I would not have gone.
