Located in Chamonix-Mont-Blanc, within 20 km of Skyway Monte Bianco and 800 metres of Montenvers - Mer de Glace Train Station, Residence la Blaitiere provides accommodation with ski-to-door access and free WiFi as well as free private parking for guests who drive. We were a little hesitant to book this property as it had no detailed reviews. However, everything was excellent and the support before arrival from the Mountain Base team was second-to-none! The chalet is situated on the third floor with a lift for easy access or stairs if you prefer. It is very authentic with lots of beautifully exposed pine walls and ceilings and it's a great size too with 3 decent sized double bedrooms, a great lounge area, a well equipped kitchen and a lovely outside balcony with fairly decent views (which would be even more picturesque in the ski season). The heating is easy to use as is everything else in the property. The only small gripe would be the WiFi which is acceptable but not brilliant. The beds are a littler firmer than I am used to but still very comfortable and we all slept very well. The bedding is great quality too - although I prefer a feather pillow :-) The property was also cleaned to a great standard and has a vibe that makes you feel immediately 'right at home'. In terms of location it is a short easy walking distance to the beautiful centre of Chamonix and it is extremely close to both the train station and the the ski school at Les Plannards (where I enjoyed one-on-one tuition from Cecile and being able to watch the other newbies from the balcony!). Brevant and Aiguille du Midi are also within walking distance too although a little further away. When you finish on the slopes, the property provides underground or outside parking and a safe, secure storage area just off the shared entrance hall to store all the ski gear. Whilst we hired a car, its very easy to get around the range in Chamonix on foot or via bus/tram if you prefer. All in all an excellent choice and we would rebook without hesitation.
