The Hotel is an oasis in Zanzibar! The food is very good, the atmosphere is great but above all, the staff is where mala boutique really shines! They really go the extra mile to help you with everything they can!

We loved everything about this hotel and had the best time. The staff were all so friendly, welcoming and obliging, and the design of the rooms, outside area, and views were spectacular. We prefer to stay in smaller hotels and Mala was simply stunning in every way! All our trips and taxis were organised for us, and every day was an adventure as we explored the island, learning about the history and culture, including The Spice Farm and guided walk in Stonetown, and fun activities including swimming with turtles and snorkelling for starfish! Our accommodation was half board and we enjoyed some lovely meals every day at the hotel, but also dined at The Rock and another local eaterie. Breakfast at the hotel was a feast, and we could decide on lunch or supper for the half board dining, which gave us flexibility! A gala dinner with live entertainment was brilliant fun (albeit slow service) and the hotel made it a big celebration for my son who has just climbed Kilimanjaro for cancer charities in the UK. A very special evening! Daily walks on the beach and on an island that feels so safe, was the icing on the cake, along with the little touches … complimentary foot or head massage, the pretty lighting in the evenings, fresh water as required, the plates and theatre in presentation for dishes on the menu, no end of friendliness from the team, and visits from Luna the hotel dog! We will definitely return!

Beautiful location and the hotel it self is stunning. The staff couldn’t do enough, so attentive and went above and beyond! Would recommend to anyone!
