Great breakfast - good choice available and hot food. I particularly liked the jars of freshly cut watermelon. The room was very comfortable and plush looking, though the bed did take up most of the space with not much room for anything else. The bijou sofa was lovely. Fresh milk provided in the fridge for teas and coffees was a nice touch. Bathroom was freshly decorated and super clean.

Lovely hotel that retains the period feel of the building. The bedrooms are named after famous Bristolians - I wanted to read the signs on each door that had a short historic note about them on (but didn't)! Lovely view from our room of the trees in the square, so it didn't feel like being in the middle of the city! We stayed for our daughter's graduation, so it was perfectly located across the street from the Wills building. The sherry & fresh fruit in the room was a lovely touch, and the labels reminded me of Alice in Wonderland! We were able to use the hotel garage (£17) which was very helpful and had the last available space (1st come basis) which saved on the faff with parking payment machines in the square & working out the tarrifs & restrictions! We paid £15 extra for early check-in, which turned out very helpful for us (with graduation at 4 pm). I found out it was an option when the hotel called me a few days before. We had a small double room but it was perfect for our 1 night stay. We ate out at Racks bar (same ownership) where food & service were excellent & we had 25% discount too!😁 We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we needed to get away fairly quickly & it was also £18.50 each. Overall, we enjoyed our stay & would use the hotel again, especially if at a Genius discount rate!

Excellent location for attending graduations at Wills Memorial building. Less than 5 minutes away. Lovely location with park nearby for walks, shops close by for convenience shopping, 15 minutes to get to harbour front with lots of restaurants. Easy for Ubers to find and take you somewhere. Beautiful outside garden area for drinking or eating. Popular restaurant, make sure to book in advance if you want to eat there.

A beautifully decorated hotel set in a gorgeous square. Everything was perfect!!! Gorgeous little Harvey’s Bristol Cream bottle, fresh fruit, cute old school telephone, fresh coffee and leaf tea and proper milk in the fridge. The snacks and drinks were not expensive.
