Lovely garden. Cute animals (dogs, cats, chickens). A lot of places to hang and meet other people. Clean. No bugs in the dorms or showers. AMAZING food! Super friendly and helpful staff, they give you tour and transport options and arrange everything for you. A fan and plug above your bed. Quiet.

Very cute cabanas in the middle of nature. The garden is beautiful. Kitchen, bathroom and rooms are cleaned every day. Good location in Balgue.

The room was lovely and the vibe of the hostal was a good mixture of friendly/quiet. The food was lovely and the staff were amazing at helping us book tours

Great hostel, stayed in 8 bed dorm. Had a kitchen to prepare meals, which I liked. Fridge to store food. Boxes to store dry foods. Scooter rental, with decent prices. They organize tours, though I didn't use that service. Only downside was that on top of the dorm, there are private rooms, with thin floors. So you can hear people walk around, if they're not too quiet. I was here in June, which is rain season. Things get wet, so more drying lines or clothing racks would be a nice addition. Aside from minor issues, a great place. Showers are cold though, but I think year round it's pretty warm on Ometepe. Luis, the receptionist is very kind and helpful.
