The apartment is a very generous space with windows overlooking the roundabout. It is well maintained and equipped with all we needed. The bed is large and comfortable with a large choice of pillows. The shower room is large, clean and fresh smelling. Good quality bed linen and towels are provided. Breakfast is provided at the cafe on the ground floor. It is not extensive, but adequate to start the day. Trains The station is about 1 mile from the accommodation and can be reached by a pleasant walk alongside a canal and turning left at the end by the former brick factory (Pingo Doce supermarket is near here). We had pre-booked train tickets to Lisbon, which was just as well because the train was full, although this might have been because we travelled on a Sunday when the number of trains is reduced from week-days. The carriage and seat numbers were provided, but it is not easy to see the carriage numbers when the train arrives (small blue panel next to only one door of each carriage), and seat numbers appear to defy logic - we were allocated seats 12 and 18 which were actually adjacent. Weird. Fares are very cheap compared to UK trains. Bolt is an Uber equivalent and apparently cheaper. Very efficient and cost effective too (we took a Bolt from the station when we arrived). Buses also run the same route from the station and are cheap too but most only accept cash for one-off rides (2.50 euro each). Timetables and location of bus stops was a challenge for me, but I am easily confused!
