Lovely garden and views. Perfect location for walks, village pub and Alton towers. Cosy comfy sofa. Good size and well stocked kitchen.

We liked the location, the fact that 2 bedrooms had single beds rather than doubles, the cottage was spacious and Louise very quick to respond to any query I had. Also, the heating was efficient. We really enjoyed our stay and can recommend it.

Host was communicative and helpful, key collection was straightforward and there was parking right outside the cottage. The cottage itself is beautiful and the location is second to none. All the facilities are available, the kitchen is well stocked with utensils, glassware and crockery, and the garden, whilst not particularly attractive, is perfect for al fresco dining or drinking. The nearby pub (The Old Dog) is walkable and nice, though watch out - its opening times are not ideal (closed Monday and Tuesday at time of writing, and apparently closed all winter). The Coach and Horses in Fenny Bentley is walkabout (45 minutes or so along a footpath) and is a really lovely pub with good food. There are plenty of walks beginning from the village, and the village itself is picturesque and very quiet. We used the cottage as a base for a day at Alton Towers, cycling the Tissington Trail, and visiting nearby Ashbourne, Buxton and Bakewell, so it was perfect for us. Would definitely recommend.

The location was beautiful. We enjoyed relaxing in the conservatory after a long day.
