!CAUTION! This property is a monumental canal house with STEEP STAIRS and NO ELEVATOR. The reception is on the first floor and there are four floors in total, all ONLY REACHABLE BY STAIRS. People having trouble walking stairs are recommended to take caution and pack lightly.

The hotel is in a superb location, on one of the main canals, and next to the tram stop for the station. It is in an old town house so the stairs are extremely steep, and a struggle with a lot of luggage. Our room was in the attic, not as hot as expected on a very warm summer's day. There is coffee and tea making in the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only downside was the small shower room which had a toilet but no basin. When you had a shower the whole floor was flooded with water so the toilet was unusable until it went away. Really inconvenient, but it was a small room so difficult to know what the solution is. We got a big discount as no breakfast could be provided which made the room incredibly cheap for central Amsterdam. All in all not a bad hotel if you could put up with the shower arrangement and steep climb up to your room.

Location and the old house itself. The check-in information was accurate. The view to the canal and room under the roof were so Amsterdam.

The hotel has an excellent location, with an authentic and unique interior inside and a modern one in the rooms. The staff is especially welcoming, and there are coffee machines with capsules both at the reception and in the rooms. You can leave your luggage before check-in or pick it up after check-out, which is very helpful when traveling with large bags. Overall, we were more than satisfied with our stay!
