one night stay in Amsterdam, booked last minute so price was not great - 100 euros. Need to take the free ferry from Amsterdam Centraal which only runs until midnight. Otherwise all ok

This reminds me of the small family-run hotels in Turkey - very simple furnishings and dated decorations but comfortable and extremely friendly. It's a short walk to one of two ferries to Central Station and a well needed respite from the crowded center to be able to stay in a close but seemingly far away quiet suburb - plus, there are many interesting places near the Eye cinema museum nearby to discover as well. Highly recommended!
