From before arriving staff were helpful and informative. On arrival, made to feel very welcomed with a glass of iced water ( was offered a wine). Bedroom was beautiful and comfortable and nicely decorated. Bar, dining areas were lovely as was the pool and garden areas. Lots of garden games which we enjoyed. All staff were very lovely.

Wonderful location with the hotel set in its own spacious grounds, but on the edge of the village of Alfriston, rather than in the middle of nowhere. Lovely to stroll into Alfriston with a few nice shops especially the wonderful Much Ado About Books. A few nice pubs too. The outdoor pool is wonderful to swim in. Drinks on the terrace overlooking the croquet lawn.
