Essentially it was what I expected from a 3 star in a Majority World city. Comfortable, clean, convenient, good value but with some quirks and minor issues. Fine for one night stoppover.

I stayed at Melka Hotel for ten days in February 2025. The hotel's location is perfect, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The staff are generally friendly and helpful, but what truly stood out was the exceptional service provided by Mekuria, the hotel manager. He was professional, welcoming, and always willing to go the extra mile to make us feel at home. What a great guy! However, our experience was tainted by an issue on our last day. Despite giving repeated notifications, the hotel's driver, who was supposed to take us to the airport, disappeared. The staff pretended to look for him but offered no real solution. As a result, we had to arrange our own transport at the last minute, which was both stressful and disappointing.

I travelled in so many parts of the world( Europe, Asia, America, and Africa. The professionalism, respect, care, and willingness to always support the guests I've seen at Melka International is unique. We greatly enjoyed our three night stay with Melka International and will come back. The staff were excellent in all ways. The room was confortable and clean. Restaurant and Bar were good. Location was great for our objectives. Manager Nebiyou Belete was very helpful and yes we did feel as friends upon parting. Only problems were a delayed airport Shuttle pickup but delays were caused by the African Summit so understandable. The second was an agressive pickpocket attempt below the entrances to Friendship Park and the Sheraton hotel. So becareful. Thankyou Melka and we'll see you again soon. Keep up the good work.
