The hostess Cecilia was very helpful and went out of her way to fulfil our extra needs when we arrived. The house contains 3 holiday flats but the tenants don't get in each other's way. We had a lovely shaded terrace with barbecue and even a bubbling flow of a levada, integrated into a decorative plant arrangement. Large fridge. The location is reasonably central to get to various hiking trails in all directions. We were offered cleaning service twice during our 14 day stay, a thing we have never experienced before! However, we only used one as we spent much more time hiking than in the flat anyway. The access roads from east and west side are very narrow and winding and some van drivers drive like hell, so be careful!

A lovely studio apartment above Rio Caldo. Comfy bed and good facilities. We arrived on foot, and were happy to walk 40 minutes up to it. Communication with the host was excellent throughout. We will certainly be coming back again.
