It's not just Pharaonic monuments that draw travellers to Egypt. Besides The Sphinx, Nile, ancient Luxor and the pyramids, it also offers nature and desert treks, great scuba diving and even golf. The high culture of the capital Cairo will surely spoil the senses. Be sure to visit the Citadel and Khan el-Khalili market in the Islamic quarter, and the churches and Coptic museum in Old Cairo. However, the city is a great base to visit the Giza Pyramids (Great Pyramid), Saqqara (Step Pyramid) and the Egyptian Antiquities museum. From here, move onto Luxor or Aswan. Explore some of Egypt’s finest monuments and tombs on the West Bank in Luxor, the Luxor museum and Karnak temple in the East.
